NoCo Junior Rowing (High School)

NoCo Junior Crew welcomes youth athletes who are ready to experience a full season of competition in the sport of Rowing!

Head Coach, Mark Berkner, has rowed with the 1986 Univ. of Wisconsin National Champion Varsity Eight, two USA World Championship Teams and the 1992 USA Summer Olympic Team. 


Four Seasons

Winter Season conditioning and three competitive seasons with a goal of qualifying for Youth Nationals.  Spring Season (Sprints), Summer Season (Sprints) and Fall Season (Head Racing).  


NoCo races in Colorado local, regional and national regattas. Registration and participation is for each distinct Spring, Summer or Fall season program. NoCo Rowers may participate in all or any one specific season.

Please attend our Open House on the dock Thursday, June 2 at 5:30 p.m.

New rower introduction class



14 to 18 year-olds


7:30 - 9:15 a.m.


$110 which may be applied to the Summer season fee of $ 505 . 


After the introduction class, summer rowing season will be held:


June 14 - Aug. 4

6:15 - 8 a.m. every M,W, &Thursday.


Monday 7/4 practice will be held on on Tuesday 7/5.

Wednesday 7/13 practice will be held on Tuesday 7/12.


  • Start time and finish times are somewhat flexible with notice.

  • Attendance at practice is not mandatory - most rowers have breaks in their schedule.

  • Advance notice of absences is required.

Additional practice for ages 12-14


Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m. 




A life preserver is required for youth 13 and under. We will row in sweep and sculling boats. Summer is the time to start rowing and learn small boat skills in singles, doubles and pairs.


We are targeting a challenging and fun regatta, Chicago Sprints - travel dates July 8-10. The season closes August - 4.  
Cost $550.

Safety - all rowers must follow these rules and sign waivers

  • Please download and return the FCRA club waiver prior to arriving at the dock.

  • Rowing past the Intro class - skip the club waiver and instead complete the USRowing waiver (links below) and be added to the club roster. 

  • Rowers must be able to swim or tread water for 10 minutes, lift 25 lbs. overhead, and be a considerate team player.

  • FCRA follows SafeSport - bullying and antisocial behavior is not tolerated.
